The Figueres team has reaffirmed its success in artistic skating, ensuring its participation in the upcoming global event. This significant achievement was realized last weekend during the Spanish Championship held at the Multipurpose Pavilion in Guadalajara.
Their choreography, titled X Tu, was instrumental in achieving a total of 34.51 points, a score that surpassed their direct competitors. This mark was sufficient to outscore the 33.95 points of Club Patí l'Aldea, the 29.51 of Condado Penélope from Galicia, and the 29.44 of CPA Ripollet. The third position was the last one granting direct access to the World Championship.
The national scene in artistic skating show groups is completely dominated by Catalan clubs. Five of the top six teams in the small groups classification are from Catalonia.
This qualification mirrors their success in 2025, when the small group also secured third place and their first qualification for the World Championship, which was held in China that year. This time, the destination will be Paraguay, solidifying the club's presence among the world's elite.
Catalan dominance in this discipline is evident, with five of the top six teams in the national small groups classification hailing from Catalonia. Ahead of Patinatge Artístic Figueres were the world-renowned teams Cunit (with 45.59 points) and Tona (with 42.40 points). In the large show category, Olot once again claimed victory convincingly, also surpassing Tona and Cunit.
The merit of PA Figueres lies in its ability to consistently perform just below the region's three most powerful clubs, demonstrating strong consolidation in the small show category and promising room for improvement in the large show, where the youth of its members suggests a bright future.
