Security in Pau has been enhanced with the completion of the installation of two sets of state-of-the-art video surveillance cameras and license plate readers. These devices have been placed at the municipality's entrances via Carrer Major, the gas station, Camí dels Horts, and Carrer Palau.
This action complements the renovation of the recording system carried out on July 7th at the Passeig dels Olivars. The integration of an artificial intelligence (AI) system at all control points will enable the Mossos d'Esquadra to perform searches and filter images more efficiently.
The Pau town council plans to extend these video surveillance and license plate reading systems to the entrance via Carrer Vilajuïga and other locations, a measure already included in the municipal budget for 2026.
Furthermore, the valued report for the water network demand regulation works has been published. This proposal includes the installation of two pressure-reducing valves to minimize water losses in case of leaks, slow down the aging of the network, and reduce user consumption. The project has a budget of 67,229 euros and a subsidy of 300,000 euros from the Catalan Water Agency (ACA) to fund the remote reading and renovation of the Olivars network.
