Carles Puigdemont, president of Junts, accused the Catalan Government of incompetence and causing a "giant national collapse" during the national leadership meeting held in Perpignan on January 24.

During the meeting in Northern Catalonia, Puigdemont stated that the chaos in the Rodalies train service is just "the tip of the iceberg of a giant national collapse" and criticized the executive led by Salvador Illa for providing "nothing more than a placebo."

"This is the Government of gesticulation and promises; the Government that has persevered in plunging the country into lethargy and anesthesia to cover up the problems."

The Junts leader demanded the immediate dismissal of the Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque, arguing she has "broken the record for incompetence." He recalled that the Parliament had already censured Paneque a year ago, adding that if he were president, he would have already dismissed her for having "wasted too many opportunities."
Puigdemont labeled the current Rodalies transfer as "fake" and demanded 100% competence, contrasting the situation with the efficiency of the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat. Furthermore, he urged party officials and elected members to "mobilize the citizenry" to awaken the country from "socialist anesthesia."
