The Schubertíada de Vilabertran is set to begin its upcoming season this summer with musical preludes in Pals and Vilajuïga, leading up to the main festival events at the Canònica de Santa Maria in late August.

This year's edition is dedicated to the memory of Jordi Roch, the festival's founder who passed away recently. The event aims to preserve his cultural legacy, which transformed the Alt Empordà region into a prestigious international hub for classical music and vocal recitals.
The main program, running from August 16th to 30th, features world-class artists including baritone Matthias Goerne and pianist Javier Perianes. The grand finale will be performed by the Quartet Casals alongside soprano Juliane Banse, featuring works by Schubert, Haydn, and Schumann.
The festival continues its commitment to emerging talent through the Lied the Future program. Highlights include the debut of soprano Mireia Tarragó with Wolfram Rieger, as well as performances by Andrè Schuen and Samuel Hasselhorn, ensuring the festival's tradition of excellence continues.
