The activity program for the elderly in Roses includes, during September, visits to the Castell de la Trinitat. The outings will begin at 9:30 AM with a tourist train ride from the Passeig Marítim to the 16th-century fortification. This structure, declared a Site of Cultural Interest, offers privileged views of the Bay of Roses and Cap de Creus from its terrace.
After breakfast, participants will learn about the role of the Castell's bunker in defending the area and its connection to historical conflicts. The bunker's restoration, completed in 2024, received an international (D)arc Award for its architectural lighting.
The day will continue with an excursion to Puig Rom before concluding with the return to Roses. This initiative aims to combine leisure, social interaction, and knowledge of local heritage, highlighting historical sites managed by the Department of Culture.
“"With these outings, we want to continue offering different and attractive proposals for people over 60, combining leisure, coexistence, and knowledge of our environment. At the same time, they allow us to value Roses' heritage and rediscover spaces that are part of our history."
Registration for the 136 available places (68 per day) must be completed at the offices of the Department of Social Services (Casa del Mar) between 9:30 AM and 2 PM. On September 7th, 8th, and 9th, access is exclusively for residents registered in Roses. From September 10th onwards, if places remain available, they will be open to other individuals over 60.
