A 66-year-old worker died from electrocution early this morning while performing maintenance work on the catenary of a railway line in Sant Mori, in Alt Empordà.

The incident occurred around 03:00 AM. According to the Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan Police), the victim, a resident of Breda (Selva), suffered an electric shock while working in the area where ADIF (Adif) is carrying out maintenance work.
A colleague of the worker transported him to the Camallera station. There, emergency services attempted to revive him using an automated external defibrillator (AED), but unfortunately, they were unable to save his life.
