The municipality of Vilafant has opened a participatory process for its citizens to decide which of the four candidate solidarity entities will receive the money raised during the upcoming Main Festival.

The aim is to combine celebration and solidarity, allocating the funds raised during festive events to a cause chosen by the citizens themselves. This initiative seeks to encourage participation and make residents feel more involved in the Town Hall's solidarity actions.
The councilors for Festivals, Rebeca López, and for Citizen Participation, Meritxell Novillo, have highlighted the importance of giving citizens a voice in choosing the beneficiary entity. "We are convinced that if the residents themselves decide the cause, the solidarity during the festival will be even greater," stated Novillo.
The voting process will be open from August 12th to 31st for individuals over 16 years of age registered in Vilafant. Voting can be done through the Vilafant App or at the ballot boxes located at the Town Hall and the municipal pavilion.
The four candidate entities are: MIFAS, TEA Alt Empordà, Associació Tramuntana després del Suïcidi, and Associació de Malalts d’Alzheimer de Figueres. The Town Hall will promote the work of each through social media and its website to facilitate an informed choice.

"The Main Festival is one of the most beautiful moments of the year in our municipality and we want to share this festive energy with those who need it."
