The Rodalies network in Alt Empordà maintains speed limitations across 179 points of the Catalan network and alternative road transport between Figueres and Portbou, as reported by Adif this Monday.

The lack of normality on the Rodalies network persists this week, with significant delays reported between Barcelona Sants and Figueres. Alternative road transport remains active between Figueres and Portbou, despite earlier reports suggesting a full restoration of service over the weekend.
The incidents require train drivers to reduce speed at 179 points across the Catalan railway network, a measure effective until February 8. This figure has increased from 155 points the previous week, as 24 new affected sections were added, despite four being resolved, according to Adif's Weekly Document of Temporary Speed Limitations.
In the Girona regions, the R11 line (connecting Portbou and Barcelona Sants) has nineteen speed limitations. A dozen of these critical points are concentrated in Alt Empordà, impacting towns such as Sant Miquel de Fluvià, Figueres, Vilamalla, Llançà, and Portbou.
Adif specified that the causes are varied, including the condition of track apparatus between Cervera and Llançà, repairs to the level crossing in Figueres, and the state of the trench between Llançà and Portbou. In Sant Miquel de Fluvià, issues stem from the poor condition of the metallic section and a fissure at a crossing point.
