US President Donald Trump ruled out holding elections in Venezuela within the next 30 days, telling NBC News that the country is a disaster and must be repaired first.

In an interview with NBC News, Trump insisted that the immediate priority is repairing Venezuela's infrastructure, suggesting he might subsidize oil companies to rebuild the energy sector in less than a year and a half.

"First we have to fix the country. You can't hold elections. There is no way people can vote."

This stance comes as Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores appeared before a federal judge in New York on charges of narcoterrorism. Trump described the capture operation in Caracas as "brilliant."
Furthermore, CIA reports, published by The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, advised Trump to keep Chavista loyalists in power, arguing that opposition leader María Corina Machado could not control the military.
