The public lighting network in this sector of the urbanization is obsolete and presents structural and electrical safety deficiencies. To correct these shortcomings, the Area of Infrastructures and Public Services has commissioned the project approved yesterday, with an execution budget of €873,950.
The intervention includes the replacement of luminaires, columns, and supports for the 25 streets within the scope. The type of new lampposts and lights has been defined based on the types of roads, circulation width, and pedestrian usage of each street, intersection, and square.
The replacement of the luminaires will reduce energy consumption. Currently, 342 streetlights with VSAP lamps consume 40 kW. The new installation will feature 275 LED lamps and consume 15.89 kW, resulting in an annual saving of over €16,000 and an electricity consumption reduction of more than 60%.
Furthermore, operating hours will be modified, establishing a specific evening schedule and a night schedule between 11 PM and sunrise, which can be varied according to seasonal needs.
The streets, squares, and avenues included in the project are: Avinguda de Santa Margarida, Plaça de l’Estel, Avinguda del Port Salines, Plaça del Cap Norfeu, Carrer de la Cala Nans, Carrer de la Cala Trencada, Carrer de la Cala Fonda, Carrer de la Cala Petita, Carrer de la Cala d’Or, Carrer de la Cala Llarga, Carrer de la Cala Pedregals, Carrer de la Cala Bona, Carrer de la Cala Roja, Carrer de la Cala Curta, Carrer del Cap Blanc, Carrer del Cap Negre, Carrer del Cap Trencat, Carrer del Cap Petit, Carrer del Cap Llarg, Carrer del Cap Gros, Carrer del Cap de la Gola, Carrer del Cap Curt, Carrer del Cap Llevant, Carrer del Cap Ponent, and Avinguda de la Platja.
