The Vilafranca del Penedès City Council concluded its temporary stay at the County Council headquarters this Tuesday with a session defined by political unity on strategic local issues.

The council unanimously approved a motion from the Pro Vegueria Penedès association. The document demands the effective deployment of the Penedès Health Region, established in 2023, which still lacks a strategic plan.

"We need solutions now; we will ask for accountability later."

Regarding housing, a new ordinance was passed to address vacant properties. This legal tool allows the City Council to monitor and penalize owners who fail to meet the social function of housing, including a two-year inspection program.
Mobility was also a priority, with a motion by ERC calling for the maintenance of support buses and railway improvements. However, the 2025 budget liquidation revealed a 5.3 million euro deficit, sparking debate over fiscal management.
