Catalonia's interurban bus network has shown limitations this week in absorbing thousands of Rodalies users, causing long queues and delays, particularly at the Fabra i Puig station in Barcelona.

The railway crisis has pushed thousands of travelers onto regular road lines, highlighting the current fleet's limited capacity to absorb sudden surges in demand. This situation is compounded by road saturation, including the partial closure of the AP-7, affecting mobility.
The user transfer is especially visible at the Fabra i Puig bus station, on Barcelona's Meridiana avenue, a connection point with the Sant Andreu Arenal train station. Regular users mix with passengers that Renfe directs to replacement buses, in a general atmosphere of resignation.

"It is a shame that the train service has so many irregularities because thousands of users rely on it, and sometimes it is complicated to arrive at work at a decent time."

The most unique case is the connection between Alt Penedès and Barcelona. The journey from Gelida, where the accident occurred, can only be completed by bus, taking one hour and 10 minutes on Monday morning, much longer than the usual 45 minutes. This delay is mainly due to congestion on the AP-7 southbound.
