Artist Mireia Camacho inaugurates this Saturday, February 28, the exhibition Plec a plec at the Sala dels Trinitaris in Vilafranca del Penedès, a retrospective covering twelve years of emotional journey.

The exhibition, titled Plec a plec. Dotze anys de creació per viure, offers an intimate look at the author's evolution. Through folded paper, Camacho has built a universe of mandalas, dresses, and geometric figures born from a process of personal overcoming following the loss of her mother. The show stands as a testament to how art can become a tool for channeling grief and the complexity of mental health.

"This exhibition is not just a display of paper pieces, but the trace of a life process: the path from unbearable pain to a form of transformative beauty."

Camacho, trained at Elisava and holding a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, uses origami as a mathematical and symbolic language. The exhibition includes everything from her early spirals and dresses to more recent pieces like Esdevenint Peixos or Metamorfosi Silenciosa, where emptiness and freedom take center stage. It also highlights her advocacy for craftsmanship as a major art form.
The opening ceremony, scheduled for 7:00 PM, will feature Culture Councilor Àngels Dalmau. The exhibition will be open until March 29. Additionally, the Vilafranca City Council has launched a mediation program that already has over 300 participants, including students and neurodiverse groups.
