One lane of the AP-7 northbound has been reopened this morning in Santa Margarida i els Monjos (Alt Penedès) following a fire caused by a collision between two trucks last night.

One of the three northbound lanes of the AP-7 has been reopened this morning in Santa Margarida i els Monjos (Alt Penedès), according to the Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT). The incident occurred last night when two trucks collided and caught fire, forcing the closure of the highway in both directions.
Initially, the road was completely closed, but traffic was later restored in the southbound direction. Early this morning, one of the northbound lanes was opened, although the removal of the vehicles and road surface repairs are still pending.
The fire, originating from the aerosol cargo of one of the trucks, quickly spread to both vehicles and the roadside. Fifteen units from the Bombers de la Generalitat worked to extinguish the flames. Fortunately, no drivers or other individuals were injured.
The incident caused traffic jams of up to seven kilometers northbound, and further disruptions are expected as cargo removal and infrastructure repair tasks are completed.
