The Acadèmia Tastavins Penedès has officially opened the registration period for the 60th edition of its wine competition, with the professional blind tasting scheduled for April 27th at Vinseum in Vilafranca del Penedès.

Supported by the DO Penedès, this contest is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the country. Local wineries have until April 21st to register online and deliver their samples to the Regulatory Council for evaluation.
A panel of experts, including winemakers and specialized journalists, will judge the entries across seven categories such as Clàssic Penedès sparkling wines and 100% Xarel·lo. All tastings are conducted blindly to ensure maximum impartiality and focus on quality.
The winners will be announced during a gala on May 15th at the Vilafranca Auditorium, coinciding with the Fires de Maig festival. Award-winning wines will benefit from promotion at major events like Vijazz and specialized tasting spaces in Barcelona.
