The Servei Català de Trànsit reopened one of the three lanes of the AP-7 northbound this Tuesday near Santa Margarida i els Monjos, following a fire involving two trucks.

The incident occurred on Monday night, around 8:44 PM, at kilometer point 200. According to initial reports, two heavy vehicles collided, triggering a fire that affected both the trucks and the side of the road. One of the vehicles was carrying tiles, while the other was carrying aerosols, a cargo that caused a blast visible from several points in the area.
Emergency teams attended to the two drivers involved, who were unharmed. Although traffic had to be cut in both directions initially, the southbound road was restored hours later. Currently, work is focused on removing the remaining cargo and repairing the road surface damaged by the fire.
Given the improvement in the situation, Protecció Civil has deactivated the alert for the special emergency plan for accidents in the transport of dangerous goods, known as Transcat. Despite the partial reopening, traffic remains affected with seven kilometers of congestion heading north.
