Three ministers of the Catalan Government, including the Head of Interior, Núria Parlon, traveled to Sant Sadurní d’Anoia late Tuesday night to coordinate the response to the fatal train accident that left one dead and 37 injured.

The Ministers of Interior, Núria Parlon, and Territory, Sílvia Paneque, along with the Minister of the Presidency and acting President, Albert Dalmau, visited the command center installed near the Sant Sadurní d’Anoia CAP (Primary Care Center). The delegate of the Spanish government in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto, also attended.
Minister Parlon reported that the accident resulted in one fatality and 37 injured people, five of whom are in serious condition. These seriously injured individuals were transferred to Hospital de Bellvitge, Vall d’Hebron Hospital, Mútua Terrassa, and the Centre d’Atenció Broggi.

"Catalans do not deserve this unworthy train service."

The main hypothesis for the accident, which requires investigation, is the collapse of a wall onto the track, likely due to a landslide caused by Temporal Harry. The mayor of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, Pere Vernet, attributed the detachment to the heavy rainfall in recent hours.
Minister Paneque confirmed the total suspension of Rodalies (commuter rail) service across Catalonia until Adif technicians inspect the network and determine it is free of obstacles. The President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, currently hospitalized, is closely monitoring the accident in contact with the ministers dispatched to the scene.
