The Catalan Government maintains the total suspension of the Rodalies commuter rail service across the entire Catalonia network since Saturday to ensure passenger safety.

Train circulation on the Rodalies network remains suspended after the Catalan Government ordered the halt until the service can be resumed with full safety guarantees. This measure follows a “horrible week” marked by two major incidents.

"Adif has deployed a dozen teams to detect critical points in the railway network and resolve these incidents as soon as possible."

The Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque, reported that the infrastructure administrator, Adif, has mobilized a dozen specialized teams to inspect the network. However, Paneque could not confirm whether the service will be restored on Monday, but assured that citizens will be informed with sufficient notice.
The crisis began on Tuesday with the R4 accident in Gelida (Alt Penedès), where one person died and 37 were injured due to the collapse of a retaining wall. After a brief resumption on Friday, a new landslide on the R1 line, near Tordera (Maresme), forced the Government to request the total and indefinite suspension of the service.
