Vilafranca del Penedès hosts Catalan Football Festival with 28 finals

The Catalan Football Festival arrives in Vilafranca del Penedès this weekend, transforming the municipal stadium and the Gamba pavilion into the stage for 28 football and futsal finals.

The headquarters of the Catalan Football Federation (FCF) in Barcelona hosted the official presentation of the Catalan Football Festival, set to take place in Vilafranca del Penedès this Saturday and Sunday. The event will feature 28 finals from the Catalan football and futsal championships, covering categories from U-9 to U-18.
In addition to the competitions, the festival will include parallel activities such as clinics for coaches and referees, and the closing ceremony of the 9th edition of the base Catalan futsal selections. The presentation event was presided over by the FCF president, Joan Soteras, accompanied by the Councilor for Sports of the Vilafranca City Council, Gemma Romeu, and the FCF delegate for Penedès-Garraf, Joan Estruch, who highlighted the event's significance for the town.
The football schedule includes 15 U-11 finals on Saturday and U-7 finals on Sunday. Among the notable matches, youth finals will be played between teams such as Barça and Espanyol. In U-7 football, Espanyol and Mercantil de Sabadell will compete in the U-9 category.
Regarding futsal, the finals will commence with the U-9 category match between Industrias Santa Coloma and Ripollet. The U-18 and U-18 women's categories will also have decisive games, with matchups including Eixample versus Martorell and Eixample versus Mataró.
