The Vilafranca del Penedès Town Council is set to finish the installation of 461 LED light points by May, as part of a major plan to modernize the city's public lighting system.

With an investment exceeding 82,000 euros, the city aims to reach a 71% LED coverage by the end of the year. The project covers several areas including les Clotes parking, Pelegrina park, and streets such as Melzo and ronda de Mar.
This transition will save 167,245 KWh of energy annually and reduce CO2 emissions by 80 tons. The municipal government expects to recover the costs in 2 years and 3 months through an annual economic saving of over 36,000 euros.
