The Catalan Government opened a file against Renfe this Thursday morning due to the suspension of rail service after a significant number of drivers failed to report for work.

The situation of inactivity persists despite Adif having certified the safety of the lines. The executive has called an emergency meeting with Renfe, the unions, and Adif to demand an immediate end to the stoppage, which is considered “intolerable”.

"The alternative plan doesn't work either, and everything is a disaster."

At the Vilafranca station, the alternative bus service provided by Renfe to cover the R4 route between the capital of Alt Penedès and Martorell is barely used. Meanwhile, the Diputació de Barcelona has restricted the circulation of heavy vehicles on the C-243b road to minimize traffic collapse.
The director of the Servei Català de Trànsit, Ramon Lamiel, indicated that lifting the toll barrier on the C-32 has increased southbound traffic volume by 85%. Specialists from the Mossos d’Esquadra continue to analyze the black box recovered from the accident in Gelida.
Renfe has begun tasks to remove the damaged train, studying crane access that could potentially affect a century-old underground cellar. The Generalitat has recommended teleworking until Friday to minimize road problems.
