This modification to the multi-year agreement, initially approved in 2022 for 42.1 million euros, is crucial for adapting the capacity of the Hospital Residència Sant Camil, Hospital Comarcal Alt Penedès, and Hospital Sant Antoni Abat to the territorial healthcare plan, modernizing facilities and equipment, and providing more suitable spaces for both healthcare professionals and the public.
At the Hospital Residència Sant Camil, planned actions include improvements to the emergency area, day surgery, intensive care unit (ICU), hospitalization support, diagnostic imaging, warehouse, public elevators, and exterior renovation. Works will also be carried out on the cold and heat, medical gases, water, and medium-voltage electrical central plants to support the hospital's expansion.
The Hospital Comarcal Alt Penedès will receive investments for the second phase of post-DANA actions, focusing on the renovation of facilities and equipment. This includes relocating essential equipment such as generators and low-voltage main switchboards, structural reinforcement, improving roof waterproofing, and interventions in water evacuation systems.
Meanwhile, the Hospital Sant Antoni Abat plans to renovate the emergency area and increase outpatient capacity. Between 2023 and 2026, works worth 15.1 million euros have already been executed, primarily at the Hospital Comarcal Alt Penedès, including the construction of the new Dialysis Center, the Training and Teaching Building, and the renovation of other areas.
The Consorci Sanitari Alt Penedès-Garraf, a public entity established in 2019 and part of the Penedès Health Region, manages these hospitals and other centers, carrying out healthcare, preventive, educational, and research activities in the Garraf and Alt Penedès regions.
