Vinseum, which has held the distinction of National Interest Museum (MIN) since last summer, presented its ambitious program after recording record figures following the opening of the new museum building. The presentation event was attended by the culture councilor of the Vilafranca City Council, Àngels Dalmau; the museum director, Xavier Fornos; and the head of cultural action, Jordi Ribas. The new plan anticipates deploying nearly 200 events, such as tastings, guided tours, talks, concerts, and debates.
The 2026 temporary exhibition program will focus on two anthological shows celebrating centennial anniversaries. The first, opening next Friday, January 23, is a proposal by the Fundació Pinnae dedicated to Antoni Gaudí and the Penedès region, titled El Penedès through Gaudí's eyes. Wine and its people. This will be installed in the Capella de Vinseum until June 28.
The second major temporary exhibition, arriving for the Festa Major (Main Festival), will be titled Vilafranca 1926. The embryo of modernity. This in-house production commemorates the 100th anniversary of the first Penedès Art Exhibition and can be visited from August 21 until February 15, 2027. Additionally, the museum will maintain the cycle of micro-exhibitions in the lobby.
A high-level program that seeks to reinforce ties with the associative and cultural fabric of the town.
The program also includes already consolidated events such as VilaPensa, which reaches its ninth edition and will focus on 'Work' from April 13 to 19, and the Most Festival, celebrating its fifteenth edition from November 5 to 15. As a novelty, the cycle ‘En clau de Bacus’ (In Bacchus' Key) is introduced, which will merge wine cultures and music with cultural activist Josep Seguí.
Regarding services, Vinseum will extend the opening hours of its tavern and introduce a new type of ticket, called #vicatala, which includes a guided introductory tasting of Catalan wine. The education area will continue to offer a monthly family proposal and maintain key activities such as the public presentation of Research Projects (TRECs) and the Petit Congrés (Small Congress).
