A total of 14 university students will undertake their summer internships, between mid-June and mid-September, at companies and entities in Alt Urgell and Cerdanya. These two counties are among the seven that offer the most places in the latest Pràcticum Odisseu program call.
Across Catalonia, 100 student-company pairings have been made, with 97 aid applications registered. Ribera d’Ebre leads participation with 10 students, followed by Noguera. Alt Urgell ranks third with 8 students, while Cerdanya is seventh with 6.
This edition has seen record participation, with over 250 student applications and, for the first time, applications from all 12 universities in the Catalan university system. Eighty-seven grants of €1,260 have been awarded to co-finance 60% of the internship costs, which last approximately 300 hours.
Qualified internship offers have been distributed among 144 companies and entities, 58% from the private sector, located in 95 rural municipalities. The sectors with the most offers have been administration, economics, law, and tourism, with a notable increase in health-related positions.
The Pràcticum Odisseu, established in 2016, aims to connect young talent with rural areas and encourage the return of qualified professionals. Since its inception, it has approved nearly 800 grants and facilitates the employment of approximately 12% of participating students annually. The program is promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya and managed by local action groups.
