The Alt Urgell County Council has reported a 52.6% reduction in energy expenses for its public buildings in la Seu d'Urgell during January, following the implementation of a biomass network.

Under the Impulsa Energia project, the council utilizes a forest-chip biomass boiler located at the local health center (CAP). This system provides heating to the County Council headquarters and adjacent social service centers.
Data from January 2026 compared to the previous year shows a 38.2% drop in gas usage. This strategic shift towards renewable forest energy aligns with regional decarbonization goals and improves the energy efficiency of public infrastructure.
