Families in the Alt Urgell region are urging authorities to extend school bus routes into small village centers, as some students currently face seven-kilometer commutes to reach the nearest stop.

The request, led by residents of Aristot and supported by local school associations, suggests using existing on-demand taxi services to connect remote homes with main bus lines on the N-260 highway. Agustí Porta, a local parent, warns that the lack of transport is forcing some families to move to larger towns like La Seu d'Urgell.
Josefina Lladós, president of the Consell Comarcal de l'Alt Urgell, stated that while the proposal has been shared with the Generalitat, significant additional funding is required to update the service, which is currently governed by a 1996 decree.

"We must make people aware of the situation and make it easier for people to live in these villages, starting with education and transport."
