The Government of Andorra has identified 56 fake cross-border workers through a surveillance operation at the Riu Runer crossing started on July 21 to verify legal residency.

After six months of investigation, the Police and the Immigration Department carried out 1,535 checks. These inspections identified individuals listed as residents in Andorra who actually lived in la Seu d'Urgell or other towns in the Alt Urgell region.

"The operation has served to investigate the impact of these practices and act accordingly with the regulations."
