According to the Andorran government, the teams working in the area will withdraw in the afternoon, and the Andorra Fire Brigade will conduct reconnaissance flights over the affected terrain.
The Generalitat fire department explained that resources are being scaled down due to the forecast of bad weather in the coming hours, which could hinder helicopter flights. The aim is to keep personnel safe and leave equipment ready in the area for rapid action in case of rekindling. The plan is to return on Friday for a terrain review.
According to established protocols, the fire can be declared extinguished once several days pass without any active focus.
Extinguishing efforts resumed on Thursday morning with five units, which carried out finishing tasks, hot spot detection, and MAER bomber drops.
