More than 200 paddlers from twenty different nations competed this weekend in La Seu d'Urgell during the first stage of the International Pyrenees Cup at the Segre Olympic Park.

The competition, part of the International Canoe Federation (ICF) world ranking, featured C1, K1, and Kayak Cross events. Local favorite Núria Vilarrubla secured victory in the women's C1, while Maialen Chourrat took the top spot in K1.
In the men's division, Oier Diaz and David Llorente won their respective categories, with Manuel Ochoa leading the Kayak Cross. The final stage of the tournament will take place in Pau on March 14-15.
This event serves as a prelude to major upcoming competitions at the venue, including the 2026 World Cup Final and the 2027 World Championships, which will be crucial for Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualification.
