The governments of Catalonia and Andorra held their first steering meeting to coordinate the feasibility studies for a new tram-train line connecting la Seu d'Urgell and Andorra.

The project, known as Tramvalira, is part of the Interreg POCTEFA European cooperation program. It aims to connect the Alt Urgell region with Sant Julià de Lòria and Escaldes-Engordany. This initial phase will focus on technical, economic, and environmental assessments to provide a sustainable alternative to private vehicle use in the Pyrenees.
Supported by an EU grant of 329,841 euros, the study represents a significant step in regional integration. The Government of Andorra leads the project for the first time in a POCTEFA framework, while the Generalitat de Catalunya will manage the European funding to develop this strategic infrastructure.
