The Mayor and Culture Councilor, Joan Barrera, presented the 28-page agenda this Monday, consolidating the format from the previous year. The goal is to highlight the programming efforts of both the council and local entities, emphasizing that culture in La Seu d'Urgell is a tool to guarantee cultural rights and foster critical thinking.
“"Our mission is to guarantee the cultural rights of all citizens."
The Director of the Culture Area, Albert Galindo, detailed that the programming remains “stable” thanks to the hiring of professional artists. Each month includes a concert, a family show, and a performance for adult audiences. Highlights include the performance by Arnau Obiols presenting his latest album, Ocelltambor, on January 31, and the family show El meu pare cremava pedres by Tian Gombau on February 28.
Regarding visual arts, the usual line is maintained, but with logistical changes: due to construction work at the Les Monges cultural center, activities will be moved to the Sala La Cuina and the second floor of the Centre Cívic El Passeig. The schedule includes exhibitions such as ‘Refugiats. Andorra, país d'acollida’ (until February 14) and ‘L’estètica de l’estàtica’ by Ricard Lobo.
A key novelty is the presentation of the Audience Study, commissioned to the company Loocal and included in the Strategic Culture Plan 2025-30. This initiative seeks to better understand the relationship of citizens with culture to guide future decisions on schedules and formats, using a methodology that combines historical data analysis and direct surveys.
