This initiative, subsidized by the Catalan Traffic Service, focuses on interventions in urban thoroughfares with the primary goal of reducing vehicle speed and, simultaneously, increasing pedestrian safety within the municipality.
“"It's about calming the area and trying to make pedestrians and cars coexist. Ultimately, it's a road, but we will try to make vehicles go slower with speed reducers, and furthermore, an important aspect of the projects is that we are installing the first double electric vehicle charger at Espai la Vansa."
The planned works include the construction of raised pedestrian crossings, the improvement of existing signage, and the creation of new pedestrian routes in the village center of Sorribes. These routes will connect Espai la Vansa with the civic center-restaurant and the City Council area, where a significant part of local activity is concentrated, with the intention of transforming this area into a more pedestrian-friendly zone.
Additionally, speed reducers will be installed in the village centers of Sorribes, Sisquer, Montargull, and Molí de Fórnols, where risk situations for pedestrians have been identified. The total cost of this comprehensive project is approximately 145,000 euros.
