The Spanish Government's sub-delegate in Lleida, José Crespín, confirmed on Monday that the resurfacing works on the N-260 highway will be completed within three weeks, ahead of the Easter holidays.

The 1.6 million euro emergency project covers a 14-kilometer section that suffered significant degradation due to ice and snow since last December. The most affected areas are located between Pont de Bar and Montellà i Martinet.

"The N-260 is an important road, a main transversal connection for the country and the Pyrenees as a whole."

The road handles an average of 6,000 vehicles daily, peaking at 8,500 in August. Following these repairs, authorities plan to start constructing a new roundabout in Montferrer immediately after the holiday period.
