Núria Vilarrubla wins silver at Canoe Slalom World Cup in Augsburg

The paddler from Club Cadí Canoë Kayak secures second place in the C1 event held in Germany.

Pyrenean paddler Núria Vilarrubla has secured a silver medal in the C1 final of the Canoe Slalom World Cup held in Augsburg, Germany, this Saturday.

Vilarrubla, who finished eighth at the Tokyo Olympic Games, delivered a flawless run with no penalties, crossing the finish line in 110.27 seconds. The victory went to Olympic champion Jessica Fox (107.93), despite a two-second penalty. Czech paddler Martina Satkova completed the podium with 110.28.
Another member of the Club Cadí Canoë Kayak, Mònica Doria, finished in ninth place with a time of 114.89 seconds. Doria, who had led the qualifying rounds, incurred a two-second penalty at gate 12, which impacted her final result.
Basque paddler Mirin Lazkano finished tenth with 115.46, after receiving a four-second penalty for touching two gates.
