The Pyrenean towns of Organyà and Alp celebrated Carnival Monday by hosting their traditional communal meals, known as Rancho and Escudella, bringing together hundreds of local residents.

In Organyà, approximately 250 people gathered at Plaça de les Homilies to share the Rancho. A group of volunteers prepared the meal using over 100 kilograms of meat, vegetables, and legumes, marking the end of three days of festivities.

"On Saturday we started with a popular breakfast for children, followed by a performance, the costume parade, and at night a dance with the new Organyà association which was a total success."

Meanwhile, Alp celebrated the 29th edition of its traditional Escudella. Twenty local volunteers prepared 450 portions using 40 kilograms of minced meat and 25 chickens, focusing on locally sourced ingredients.
Mayor Carlos Adserà noted that the sports hall provided a spacious venue for the event. The celebration also included a social component, delivering meals to residents unable to leave their homes due to health issues.
