The pensioners and retirees section of Comisiones Obreras has made public its dissatisfaction with the closure of these facilities. According to the organization, the measure seriously affects both individuals and companies in Alt Urgell, Cerdanya, and Spanish residents in Andorra.
The group points out that the problem is not limited to the current closure, but is the result of a degradation of the service over recent years. They criticize the lack of staff dedicated to public service and the scarce information provided by provincial and state authorities regarding the management of the service.
It is doubly painful because public administrations usually use rhetorical expressions about supporting the rural world, expressions that are directly contradictory to the closure of public service offices.
The formal request demands that Social Security officials restore the office's operation with stable staff. The goal is to ensure that citizens can carry out necessary procedures before the National Social Security Institute and the General Treasury of the Social Security without having to travel.
