The performance featured a program focused on 17th-century Italian Baroque music, with pieces by composers such as G. B. Bassani, P. Benedetti, A. Falconiero, B. Marini, T. Merula, C. Monteverdi, and A. Stradella.
Polifem Consort, directed by Jordi Domènech on harpsichord, included performances by Ferran Albrich (baritone), Anna Urpina and Joan Espina (violin), Rafael Bonavita (theorbo), and Nicola Brovelli (cello).
The concert concluded with a period of conversation between the audience and performers, accompanied by a tasting of local cheeses and beers from Alt Urgell, from the brands Mas d'Eroles and El Gall Negre.
The program centered on the myth of Orpheus, a key figure in music history and an inspiration for the birth of opera in Italy around 1600, with works by composers such as Peri, Caccini, and Monteverdi, and its subsequent influence in numerous stage versions and compositions.
