A fire in a high-voltage power line in Montferrer i Castellbò caused electricity outages across several local villages this Tuesday, March 10th.

Emergency services were alerted at 6:45 AM regarding a fire on the side of the access road to Castellbò. The blaze affected the protective plastic casing of the high-voltage line, leading to an immediate power failure in the Alt Urgell region.
Three units from the Bombers de la Generalitat (Fire Brigade) were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters initially secured the perimeter and extinguished the flames burning the infrastructure's plastic components.
The operation was successfully concluded once the utility company confirmed the electrical current had been cut off. This allowed the Bombers to safely finish extinguishing the fire and secure the area.
