The city of la Seu d'Urgell recorded its twelfth snowfall of the season this Friday, February 13th, as a major winter storm impacts the Pyrenees region.

Snow began falling in the capital of Alt Urgell before 10:00 AM, intensifying by midday. This winter has become the snowiest in recent years for the city. While local traffic remains functional, authorities have urged pedestrians and drivers to exercise extreme caution due to slippery conditions.
The regional road network is heavily affected, with snow chains mandatory on twenty roads, including the Bonaigua and Cantó passes. In Andorra, mandatory equipment is required from Encamp and Escaldes-Engordany towards the northern parishes.
Meteorological services warn that storm Oriana will bring winds of up to 120 km/h and significant snow accumulation. The avalanche risk is expected to reach level 4 out of 5 by Saturday, with up to 50 cm of fresh snow predicted on the highest peaks.
