A severe wind storm has forced the closure of the C-14 highway in Oliana this Thursday and led to the preventive shutdown of all local ski resorts.

In the Alt Urgell region, traffic was halted on the C-14 to remove a truck following an accident. In La Seu d'Urgell, wind gusts reached 64 km/h, prompting the City Council to close schools and public parks to ensure resident safety.
In Andorra la Vella, a large tree collapsed onto Salou Avenue, damaging at least three vehicles. No injuries were reported, despite the intensity of the storm, which saw record gusts of 138 km/h in Espot and 120 km/h in Boí Taüll.

"It is necessary to apply preventive measures that were not in place at that time."

Ski resorts across the Pyrenees remain closed this Thursday, with hopes to reopen on Friday if conditions improve. Authorities emphasize that these preventive measures are vital to avoid personal injuries during high-wind episodes.
