The Generalitat de Catalunya has officially accepted the transfer of municipal land in La Seu d'Urgell to build a new public residence for the elderly, a key step to strengthen social services in the Alt Urgell region.

The agreement formalizes the Government's receipt of the land, totaling 4,859.22 square meters, donated free of charge by the La Seu d'Urgell City Council. The property will be located in an area designated for the construction of this future public residential facility and its necessary complementary installations.
This procedure represents a fundamental step to advance the project's development and will allow for the continuation of administrative processing prior to the tender for the construction works. According to the planned schedule, the tender for the works is expected to be published during the first quarter of 2027.
The new residence will address the care needs of the elderly in La Seu d'Urgell and the entire Alt Urgell region, thereby contributing to strengthening the public network of social services in the territory.
