The work, carried out on October 23rd and 24th, aims to improve promenade lighting, particularly in pedestrian areas and the cycle path, while also reducing electricity consumption and costs.
According to the Councilor for Public Space and Infrastructure, Josep Maria Hugué, these works are part of the public lighting renovation plan that has been underway for years to modernize the network, improve energy efficiency, reduce incidents, and enhance safety.
Last year, the City Council already replaced 64 lighting points damaged by accidents or vandalism, and upgraded 33 out of the municipality's 54 electrical panels to optimize operation and reduce breakdowns.
This intervention in Mota de Sant Pere follows the replacement of 112 lampposts in the Corral d’en Cona urbanization this summer, an operation costing 125,169 euros. This year's projects, including the Mar Mediterrània promenade, total an allocation of 245,605.51 euros under the contract with the managing company Rubatec.
Before the end of the year, the replacement of 24 luminaires on the riverfront cycle path and 31 lampposts in the Salines passages is also planned.
