The Lleida Provincial Council (Diputació de Lleida) plans to approve accounts for the 2026 fiscal year amounting to 223.7 million euros, representing a 28% increase compared to the previous year, aiming to strengthen investments in local infrastructure and climate emergency response.

This budgetary increase incorporates significant allocations dedicated to direct aid to address climate catastrophes and improve the municipal water network, a priority given the ongoing drought situation.
Key projects set to receive funding include the construction of the INEFC Pirineus center, the organization of the Canoeing World Championship, and the reformulation of the Homilies d'Organyà space, emphasizing investment in the Pyrenean territory.
The main opposition group, Junts Impulsem, has already announced that it will vote in favor of the budget, arguing that the approval will guarantee the arrival of more resources to the municipalities and regional councils within the province.
