The governing Compromís per la Seu and the opposition Junts per la Seu have finalized a deal to pass the 2026 municipal budget this Thursday.

The agreement for the 27 million euro budget ensures that property taxes (IBI) will not increase in 2027. The plan also prioritizes debt reduction, using municipal reserves to cut over 650,000 euros in liabilities instead of taking out new loans.

"This is a consensus budget that will allow us to move forward with the initiatives the city needs."

Joan Barrera · Mayor of La Seu d'Urgell
Key projects included in the pact are the installation of surveillance cameras, a new Business Support Office, and progress on the Alt Urgell regional hospital and public housing developments.
