The landslide occurred in the municipality of Sant Joan Fumat and directly affected the mobility of about a hundred residents, who had to use 4x4 vehicles via the alternative route of Farrera dels Llops. The road had been closed since 12 noon this Wednesday.
Conversely, the situation remains critical in the Noguera region, where the LV-9047 road, connecting Balaguer and Camarasa, will remain closed for a month. This closure is a consequence of the rock detachment that took place last Saturday in Gerb, within the municipality of Os de Balaguer.
The Diputació de Lleida has initiated emergency works this week, budgeted at 500,000 euros, to clear and stabilize the affected slope. The work focuses on a section bordering a rocky massif up to 80 meters high, aiming to guarantee road safety.
According to the institution, tasks include replacing the damaged dynamic barrier section, stabilizing the unstable slope, and preventive actions on other sections of the hillside at risk of further landslides.
