The Town Council of El Pont de Suert and residents of the Alta Ribagorça region have united to oppose the Territorial Plan for Renewable Energies (PLATER) by the Generalitat, which proposes the installation of solar panels on agricultural land.

The mayor of the municipality, Iolanda Ferran, has expressed total disagreement with the project and announced that both individual and municipal objections are being prepared to achieve the removal of priority agricultural plots from the plan.
The Town Council plans to convene another public meeting soon to coordinate the joint opposition and will present an adhesion to the manifesto Adhesions Oposats Plater at next week's municipal plenary session. This manifesto, available online, allows individuals to join with their personal details.
Affected residents complain that the planned installations encroach on cultivation and pasture land essential for their livestock. Other regions such as Noguera have also expressed their rejection, while Segrià and Garrigues have called for greater consensus in the plan's deployment.
