This edition of the contest, which took place under the theme 'How do women see themselves?', saw significant participation with 76 photographs submitted by 31 artists. The event culminated with the awards ceremony on March 28 at the Mont-Àgora center in Santa Margarida de Montbui.
The event also included the inauguration of an exhibition featuring all participating works, which will be open to the public until April 26. The first prize was awarded to Aina Carpi Riera for her work 'No em fareu callar', while the second prize went to Marina Pifarré Rovira with 'Victòria; Dona de l’Horta'. The public's choice award, selected via Instagram, was given to Ainhoa Osuna Abad for 'Batecs compartits'.
The jury highlighted the strength of the winning portrait, which depicts an elderly woman, rebellious and irreverent, with a carefully crafted composition and striking black and white contrasts.
Furthermore, the jury praised the frank gaze and power of the protagonist in the second-prize-winning work, considering her a symbol of the resistance and dignity of women in rural areas. The contest, organized within the framework of March 8, aims to foster female participation and promote reflection on gender issues and the importance of dignified living conditions.
This edition is particularly significant as it marks the 30th anniversary of the Dones amb Empenta entity. The awards ceremony concluded with an emotional tribute to the organization's founders, who were instrumental in its creation during its early years.
