The Association of Micropobles of Catalonia and the Impuls Rural cooperative formalized an agreement in Carme on February 18 to boost social and economic projects in small towns.

This strategic partnership aims to provide small rural centers with the necessary resources to manage local services and fight depopulation. Key focus areas include the creation of local energy communities, activating vacant housing for affordable rent, and improving elderly care services.

"Cooperativism is a key tool to reactivate small villages and strengthen the community dimension."

Jordi Via · President of the Governing Board of Impuls Rural
The event was attended by the Mayor of Carme, Marc Sánchez, and the Mayor of Santa Maria de Miralles, Yolanda Ruiz. Joan Solà Bosch, president of the association and Mayor of Riner, defended a rural model based on local empowerment and proximity services.
