The Emili Vallès school in Igualada has been forced to suspend all educational activities this Monday after recent technical inspections identified structural flaws that pose a safety risk to students and staff.

School management informed families that students should stay home on March 10 and 11 while experts evaluate the building. The City Council and the Department of Education are currently searching for alternative solutions to guarantee the completion of the academic year.
A temporary reception area has been established at the Milà i Fontanals Institute for families unable to find childcare. This service includes school canteen facilities and support from the school's teaching staff to minimize the impact on the local community.
A press conference is scheduled for Tuesday morning at La Teneria to provide further details on the specific structural problems. An informative meeting for parents will also take place on Wednesday evening to discuss the next steps.
