Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) recorded a historic high of 100.6 million journeys during 2025, surpassing the 100 million barrier for the first time, according to its president, Carles Ruiz Novella.

The total of 100.6 million journeys is concentrated mainly on the Metropolitan Lines, representing a 3.2% increase compared to 2024. This growth reflects the retention and acquisition of new users, while maintaining high indices of punctuality and quality across all lines.

"For the first time, we have reached 100 million journeys on the Metropolitan Lines, and on the Lleida-La Pobla line, we are chaining the fourth consecutive year of record demand with nearly 487,000 users."

The Llobregat-Anoia line contributed significantly to these figures, closing 2025 with 29.4 million journeys, 2.8% more than the previous year. Several municipalities along this line experienced above-average increases in demand, notably Castellbell i el Vilar (20%), Manresa (15.8%), and Sant Vicenç de Castellet (14.5%).
Regarding the Anoia region, the increase in demand was significant in Vallbona d’Anoia (13.6%) and Capellades (9.1%). The Barcelona-Vallès line also grew, registering 71.2 million journeys (a 3.4% increase).
Finally, the Lleida-La Pobla de Segur line achieved its fourth consecutive record year with nearly 487,000 travelers, a 9.1% increase. This 2025 figure is 6.5 times the demand the line had in 2015, the year before FGC took over its management.
